Hi, I'm Miss Davies and in this lesson, we're going to be dividing decimals by integers.
Dividing a decimal by an integer is just like dividing an integer by an integer.
If we're working out 2,682 divided by three, it would look like this.
Three, does it go into two? We have a remainder of two.
26 divided by three is eight, remainder two, 28 divided by three is nine, remainder one, and 12 divided by three is four.
2,682 divided by three is 894.
Next, let's look at 26.
82 divided by three.
Two divided by three is zero, remainder two, 26 divided by three is eight.
We need to make sure that we are putting our decimal point in line with the one in the question, it is a good idea to put this in when you get to it.
28 divided by three is nine, remainder one and 12 divided by three is four.

You can see that these are the same digits in the same order, the second question has just got a decimal point in it.
