Hi, and welcome back.

I am Bethany and I am your media teacher for this unit.

So this is Lesson 6 of 6.

And in this lesson that we will be producing your digital media artefact.

So in this lesson, you will be creating your media artefacts.

So we're going to be jumping straight in with Task 1.

So Task 1 is going to be reviewing your progress.

So what I'd like you to do for this task is to open the unit assessment rubric and reveal your progress so far.

But don't worry, I will be explaining this rubric.

When you come onto the worksheet, this is what you will see.

So this is the first section of the marking rubric.

And this section is planning with pre-production materials.

So you can give yourself a grade from zero points to 30 points, zero points being no evidence and 30 points being excelling.

So for this, zero points would be no evidence.

So that means you've got no evidence provided and basically means you've done none of the work.

So 10 points would be the beginning.

So this would be the pre-production methods used, were basic and ideas of beginning to come clear.

So next up we have developing.

So this is going to be for 20 points.

So this means that the pre-production methods used were clear and the presentation of them showed good progression.

And then lastly, we have excelling, this is 30 points.

This is going to be the pre-production methods used for the media artefacts created were excellent and well-presented.

So what you need to do for this is give yourself a grade from zero to 30 based on those descriptions and where you think you are.

Then what you're going to need to do is write a short paragraph and then how you can improve the section.

So next app in the marking rubric, we have logo, design and creation.

So obviously you have not created your logo for your final media artefact yet.

However, what I'd like you to do is give yourself points based on the logo you created in the previous lessons.

So again, the points go from zero to 30, zero being absolutely no evidence at all, and 30 points being excelling.

So again, all you need to do is read the descriptions and see which one you think your work identifies with the most, and then give yourself a short paragraph on how you think you can improve your logo design and creation for next time.

So the third section of the marking rubric is the creative interpretation of the brief.

So in the brief that you selected in the previous lesson, you then need to mark yourself on how you interpreted this brief, how creative do you think that you were? Again, you need to give yourself a mark from zero to 30, zero, being no evidence, and 30 being excelling.

So an example of an excelling piece of work would be that you interpreted the brief very creatively.

The documentation and presentation showed a highly developed flow of design ideas and reasoning.

You then again, need to give yourself a paragraph on how you think that you could improve.

So the next section of the marking rubric is going to be technical delivery of the artefact.

So obviously, at this point, you haven't actually created your artefact yet.

So what I'd like you to do is grade yourself on the previous artefacts that you did create.

So that's the multi-page website, the logo, the poster, and the video.

I want you to give yourself a mark from zero to 30 based on the descriptions there.

And then, I also want you to write a paragraph on how you think you can improve when creating your final media artefact? So then lastly, we have documentation.

So what I'd like you to do again, is give yourself a mark from zero to 30.

And this is going to be based on the documentation that you provided.

So this could be potentially your reasoning for selecting your client brief, that will class as documentation.

So you give yourself a mark based on that, and then also, give yourself a paragraph on how you can improve for next time.

So now I'd like you to complete Task 1, which is reviewing your progress.

I'd like you to open the unit assessment rubric and reveal your progress so far.

So now I'd like you to complete Tasks 2, which is actually creating your digital media artefact.

So what I'd like you to do is start creating a digital artefact.

I want you to break this large task down into the sections that have been listed in the worksheet for you.

So I have created this list for you, which will break the large tasks down into sub-tasks for you.

The first sub-task is logo, design and creation.

So I'd like you to create the logo for your client using either Gimp or Inkscape, whichever one you are most comfortable with.

So the second task is going to be a research task.

This is going to be researching different inspirations for your website and also research in different media materials you can use on your website providing you have the right Creative Commons licence on them.

And then lastly, we have documentation.

So for the media artefacts that you've created, I would also like you to create a document to accompany it.

I would like this to explain to the client what you have created and detail the choices you've made within this artefact.

So that could be the choices of the colour schemes, the different layouts, why you've used certain media you've used, just describing to the client, what you've done and why you've done it.

So pause this video now to complete Task 2.

The last task of this lesson is going to be Task 3 reviewing your work.

So I'd like you to open the unit assessment rubric, which is in the worksheet, and I'd like you to review your progress over the entire project.

So not only would I like you to use the marking rubric to review your progress in this final media artefact creation.

I would like you to also consider the work you've done throughout the entire process.

The marking rubric for this is exactly the same as the one I introduced you to in Task 1.

So within Lesson 6, you learned how to create a media artefact.

So that is the end of Lesson 6 and actually the end of this unit.

However, there is an end quiz that'll test your knowledge on the entire unit.

I hope you really enjoyed, and I hope you learned a lot, and make sure you share your work with Oak National, with your parent or carer's permission.
