In 'Front Desk: Persuasive Letter Writing', pupils will further develop their understanding of how to use persuasive devices and apply these to the context of a realistic fiction text.

In 'Introduction to Debate', pupils will begin to learn about persuasive devices and how to use these in spoken language. In 'School Uniform: Persuasive Letter Writing', pupils will develop this understanding and apply it to written context.

In this unit, pupils write a formal persuasive letter to the Prime Minister. They learn about persuasive writing devices, including flattery, presumption, evidence and veiled threat. Pupils learn and apply a variety of conventions of formal letter writing.
