French

In this unit, pupils use 'aller' plus infinitive to express future intentions for weekend and holiday plans. Knowledge of negation is extended to include two-verb structures and inversion questions are practised in two-verb structures. The SSCS qu and j are revisited.

Which words containing the SSC [qu} are cognates?

To make sentences with two verbs negative, the 'ne ... pas' surrounds the {{}} verb.

Match the correct French sentence halves to translate the following.
I am going to go to school. She is going to do homework. He is not going to the cinema. You are not going to leave.

Match the French words containing [qu] to the English. Say them aloud to practise pronunciation!

Match the verb infinitives with the French.

Match up the pronouns with the correct forms of 'aller'.

We can negate a sentence by adding 'ne ... pas' around the {{}}.

To express future intentions we use the short form of 'aller' followed by an {{}}. For example: je vais aller au parc.
