Hello everybody, it's Mrs. Sidhu here to do some more wonderful maths with you.

As you know, I love creating art and this is some of the art that I created.

I did some mindful colouring.

Maybe you might have done something at home.

Now let's get started with our super-duper maths for today.

Today, we are going to be learning to order numbers within 100 and using all of the information that we learned yesterday.

Now let's get started.

This is Lesson Eight for the topic of "Numbers to 100 and beyond." You will need a paper and a pencil.

There are times when you will have to pause the video to have a go at some of the activities yourself.

Now let's get started.

Today we're going to look at a quick starting quiz to see what you remember from yesterday and to warm up our brains.

Some key vocabulary, which means some of our star words.

Then we will be ordering numbers from the greatest to the smallest within 100 and ordering numbers from the smallest to the greatest.

An independent task and then we will find out the answers.

And then finally a quiz to see what we have learnt.

Let's do our star words first.

I want you to say the words after I have said them, star word, star words Greater, greater value, less, least value, compare, equal to.

Super, let's see if we can use this star words today.

Before we start, I want you to pause the video to complete your start of lesson quiz.

Once you finished, then you can restart the video.

Now let's get started.

Here we have some numbers and today's lesson we're going to be comparing and ordering the numbers using our star words greatest and least have a look at the two numbers on the screen.

Can you say the two numbers? Super, the first number is 92.

The second number is 56.

which number has the greatest value? And how do you know? I want you to pause the video and take a look to see which number has the greatest value pause and freeze, macaroni cheese.

What do you think? Which number has the greatest value? Let's have a look closely at the numbers.

Here we have the number 92.

I know that when we compare the numbers we look at the tens first.

The first number has nine tens and the second number has five tens.

I know that nine tens is greater than five tens.

Nine is a bigger number than five, which means it has a greater value.

That must mean 92 has a greater value than 56.

I hope you got that right to super-duper.

Now, let's see the same numbers written using our dienes to represent the numbers.

We can clearly see that 92 has nine tens and 56 has five tens.

We can see that there's more tens in 92 than in 56.

Therefore 92 has a greater value than 56.

Now, here we've got another number.

Can you tell me the new number we've got at the end? Can you shout it out? Can you shout out super loud? Super, 72? Where would the number 72 come into the sequence? 'Cause we've got 92 and 56.

92 has a greater value and 56 has the least value.

We need to find out if it is greater than 92 or 56.

How do we do that? Well, we need to check the, ah, we need to check the tens first.

I want you to pause the video and check how many tens 72 has.

I want you to pause think, that was super quick.

Let's see if you've got the same as me.

Let's look at how many tens and ones there are in the number 72.

Let's count together.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Seven tens are in 72.

One, two, two ones.

Seven tens and two ones.

That means a 72 is less than 92, but more than 56.

Even if we were to order the numbers 92, 56 and 72, where would we need to put the number 72? I want you to have a think for a moment.

And now can you tell me? I want you to point to the screen to see if you are correct.

Are you ready? Let's have a look.

Good job, were you correct? I like that you were looking at all of the numbers and comparing the tens.

Now, as you did such a super-super job let's have a look at some other numbers now.

Oh, this time we've got four numbers.

Can you say the numbers with me? 59, 80, 27, 63.

How are we going to order these numbers? I think this time we should order the numbers from this smallest number to the greatest number.

That means from the smallest to the biggest number.

We need to find out how many tens are in each number first so that we can compare them.

Do you think you can help me to count the tens? Now let's draw the tens this time.

We can use our dienes to help us.

So we can clearly see how many tens are in each number.

Are you ready? So 59, 59 has five tens.

80, 80 has eight tens.

27, 27 has two tens.

63, has, can you shout you out to the screen? 63 has six tens.

Can you tell me which number has the most tens? Shout it out so I can hear.

Shout it out even louder.

Can you say it with a really high voice? Let's see.

I liked that you chart it that nice and clearly.

Now let's see if you've got the same as me.

Now let's put them to order remembering when we're ordering the numbers, we are ordering the numbers from the smallest to the greatest this time.

I need to start with the smallest number.

I know that 27 has only two tens so that must go first.

What number might go next? Then 59 is next because it has five tens and I know that five tens is more than two tens but less than six tens.

What number is going to go next? 63, 63 must be next because six comes after five and finally 80 is at the end of a number sequence and 80 has the greatest value because it has eight tens, which is the most.

You're so good with ordering numbers.

I think you're ready to do our independent tasks.

Let's see what we have today.

Task one, you have to order the numbers from the least value to the greatest value.

Make sure you draw the dienes to help you to order them.

Once you finish, then you can move on to task two.

Task two, this time we have to order the numbers from the greatest value to the least value.

That means from the biggest number to the smallest number.

Make sure you draw the dienes to help you to order them.

Now, once you finished, then you can have a look at the answers to see if you're correct.

Let's look at the answers.

The numbers from least value to the greatest value.

Make sure you checked all of the tens.

And task two we had the numbers from the greatest value to the least value.

How did you do, did you count the tens and draw the dienes? Good job.

Now, I think you're ready to complete your end of lesson quiz.

I hope you had lots and lots of super duper fun with counting and comparing the numbers, bye.
