Hi everyone, my name is Miss Sabzvari, and I'm really excited that you decided to join me today for our maths lesson.

The unit that we're studying is time.

In the previous lesson, we focused on reading the time to the nearest five minutes.

In this lesson, we will be sequencing daily events.

So when you're ready, let's begin.

So, let's have a look at today's lesson agenda.

First, we'll begin by sequencing, then we'll move on to our Talk Task.

After that, we'll be writing the time, and finally, you'll complete your independent tasks.

And before we begin today's lesson, you will need the following items. You will need something to write with and something to write on, you will need a clock, and finally, you will need a ruler.

Now, if you don't have a clock that's okay.

So please pause the video now and get the items that you need.

Sequencing.

So, what I would like you to do is to think about a usual Friday, okay? I would like you to think about what time do you get up in the morning.

So remember Friday is a school day.

So what time do you normally get up in the morning? What time do you have breakfast? What time do you come to school? What time do you have lunch? What time do you go home? What time do you have dinner? And finally, what time do you go to bed? So pause the video now and share your answers with the screen.

If you have a clock, then please do show the times on your clock.

If you don't, that's okay, just share your art with the screen.

Great job! So, on your screen now you can see a couple of the daily events that happen on a typical school day.

And at the bottom, there are some clocks, okay, but the hands have been removed.

So what I would like you to do first, is to pause the video and to draw out the six clocks, okay.

Do that now.

Great job.

Now, what I would like you to do is to order or sequence the activities.

And then I would like you to draw the hands, to show around what time each activity would be taking place.

So pause the video now.

Great job.

So let's have a look.

So typically on a Friday, I would wake up at around half past seven.

And by a quarter past eight, I would be getting into school, if not earlier.

Then, at around 20 to nine, I would be collecting all the children, ready to start the school day.

And at 12 o'clock noon, okay, we would be having lunch at school.

And around half past three, the children would be leaving school, okay.

So you would be leaving school.

And around nine o'clock at night, you would be all tucked up in bed, okay.

So we wake up in the morning, and we go to school, and midday, or 12 o'clock noon, we'll be having our lunch and in the afternoon we'll be leaving school.

And in the evening we will be sleeping, okay.

All the way through the night time.

Great job, if you got that correct, okay.

You didn't have to get exactly the same times, however, roughly the same, the sensible answers.

Great work.

Now moving onto our Talk Task.

What I would like you to do is to create your own timeline for a typical school morning, okay? So what we just looked at was a typical school day, but now thinking just about the morning, okay.

What I would like you to do is to, again, draw the clocks on a piece of paper.

And I would like you to do a picture of the event that's happening at that time.

Remember, it needs to be in the order of time, okay.

And as you're drawing the pictures, I would like you to say the following, okay.

So, for example, "First thing in the morning I get out of bed.

"This usually happens about seven o'clock.

"Next I get dressed.

"I think this is about 10 minutes after I get up, "so about 10 minutes past seven." Okay, so the first clock is going to be seven o'clock and it's going to be a picture of you waking up.

Then it's going to be 10 past seven, when you're getting dressed, and so on, okay.

So as you're doing your tasks, I would like for you to explain when it is happening and around what time.

Great, let's have a look at the answers.

At around seven o'clock in the morning, I will be waking up, and 10 minutes after, that's around 10 past seven, I will be brushing my teeth.

And 10 minutes after that, around 20 past seven, I will be getting dressed, so putting my work clothes on, you putting your uniform on, getting ready.

And around half past seven, I will be eating my breakfast and getting ready for the day.

And around quarter to eight, I will be leaving the house and making my journey to work.

And by half past eight, I will be in school and doing some work.

Great job.

So if you had anywhere close to those times and they were sensible times, then well done.

Writing the time.

Great.

So what I would like to do is have a look at the pictures on the left hand side of the screen, okay? So there are daily events that happen, okay.

And the clocks, again, are missing their hands, okay.

And what I would like you to do is to draw these clocks on your piece of paper.

If you have a clock, then you can show the hands on your clock, but if you don't, please draw the clocks on your piece of paper.

And then I would like you to write down what time the event is happening and what part of the day it is, okay.

Using our key words morning, midday, afternoon, evening, or night.

So for example, the time is 20 past seven in the morning.

So I would write here, using my character list and full stops, the time is 25 past seven in the morning, all in words.

And then I would be showing that time on my clock.

So pause the video now, and complete your task.

All right, so let's have a look at the answers, okay.

So for example, the time is seven o'clock in the morning.

So that's what time I would wake up.

And the time is 10 past eight in the morning.

And finally the time is 20 to nine in the morning, okay.

That's when the children come in.

Great job, if you got something very similar.

If you didn't, that's okay.

Just practise writing the correct time again, okay.

Good work.

Great job, let's have a look at the independent task.

What I would like you to do is to write the time for each activity in words, just like we have been doing so far.

And I would like you to remember to use one of the words at the bottom of the page, okay.

So is it happening during the morning, afternoon, midday or nighttime? And once you've done that, then I would like you to number the activities in order.

And when you're ready, we will go through the answers together.

Great job, so let's have a look at the answers together.

So the first clock is the 20 past eight clock, okay.

So "The time is 20 past eight in the morning." Next, "The time is 12 o'clock midday." After that, it should be, "The time is 25 to three in the afternoon." And finally, "The time is five past nine, nighttime." Excellent work if you got all of that correct and in the correct order, great job.
