When you round a number, you are making a number less accurate, but keeping it close to its original value.

When you adjust a number you make a small change to it.

Redistribution is where part of one addend is moved to another addend.

They will convert quantities of money between pounds and pence using the most efficient and reliable strategy to find the change. In the future unit pupils will carry out conversions that correspond to 100 parts and solve measures problems involving different units.

In the prior unit pupils calculated with decimal numbers using column addition and subtraction. In this unit pupils will explain represent and compare whole pounds and pence .
