When we unitise, we treat groups that contain, or represent, the same numbers of things as ‘units’ or ‘ones’.

They read scales by using their knowledge of the composition of 10000 and 100000. In this unit pupils will use representations to identify and explain patterns in powers of 10 and read numbers with up to 7 digits efficiently.
