Hi, I'm Miss Davies.

In this lesson, we're going to be looking at pictograms. The pictogram at the bottom of your screen shows the information that is in the table above it.

We can see from this pictogram that one full circle represents four people.

We've been asked to complete the pictogram.

If one full circle represents four people, this means that 15 people will be represented by three full circles and three quarters of a circle.

We've got four, four, four and three which adds together to make 15.

The other part of the pictogram need to represent six people This will be one full circle and a half circle or semicircle as the semicircle would represent two people.

From the pictogram, how many people owned a fish? Next to fish there are three full circles and we know that each circle represents four people so the calculation that we are going to do is three multiplied by four.

This gives us an answer of 12.
