♪ Higgety Tiggety Bumble Bee ♪ ♪ Can you sing your name to me ♪ Great job, everyone! Today, we are going to learn to review our understanding of pulse, to understand that some music has different numbers of beats, to identify the pulse in songs, and to clap on the strongest beats.

In this lesson, you will need your body.

What is the pulse in music? Is it the words of the song, the instruments used in the music, the heartbeat of the music, or the person singing the song? That's right, it's the heartbeat of the music.

Which beat is usually the strongest beat in the bar? Is it beat one, beat two, beat three or beat four? That's right, it's beat one.

I'm going to sing a new song to you, now.

This is a lovely lullaby.

It's called, "Hush Little Baby." While I do that, I'm going to clap on the first beat of every bar and tap my knees on the rest of the beats.

See if you can tell from the pattern I'm clapping and tapping, how many beats there are in each bar of the song.
