Hickety Tickety's a bumblebee and he's got a little song that goes like this.

I'll go first to show you how it's done.

Today, we are going to learn to hear the pulse, to move my body in time to the pulse, to count how many beats and to describe what a pulse is.

In this lesson, you will need your body.

Give us a wave! Your voice, say hello.

And a Teddy or toy.

Pause the video to go and get a Teddy or toy, now.

You can press Play again, once you're finished.

I get to sing a song to you today.

This is called, "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat." You might already know it.

If you do, you can join in with me.

But I want you to spot what my hands are doing.

What were my hands doing? Were they clapping a steady pulse like this? Or were they clapping a random pattern like this? That's right, they were clapping a steady pulse.

Pause the video to sing a song to your Teddy and try to keep the pulse.

You can pick any song you like.

Why not try, "Hot Cross Buns," or "Happy Birthday?" You can press Play again, once you're finished.

This time, I'm going to sing, "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat," to you one more time.

And you're going to count how many beats it has.

That's how many times I clap or tap my knees.

See if you can count how many.

What is the pulse in music? Is it the heartbeat of the music or the instruments used in the music? Well done, it's the heartbeat of the music.

Today, we have learnt to hear the pulse, to move our body in time to the pulse, to count how many beats, and to describe what a pulse is.
