Hi, everybody? My name is Mr. Palekar and welcome back to our last lesson this unit, lesson number six.

Now today, we are going to perform our cup game.

We are going to read some rhythms using all of the notes that you've learnt.

We are going to complete our composition.

Remember our composition is the music that we started to make up.

And, we are going to perform our composition as well.

For this lesson, you will need some headphones If you have some.

If you don't, don't worry.

As always make sure that you are sitting somewhere where you can concentrate and won't be disturbed.

You'll need a pencil and some paper, if you would like to take any notes.

You will need your hands.

And finally, you will need a plastic or a cardboard beaker or cup.

Please make sure it's not made out of something that will break.

And if you're not sure, always ask an adult first.

Let's get started.

The cup game.

The chant for the cup game is something that we've been practising for the last few lessons.

My turn and then your turn.

Ready? ♪ Clap clap tap tap tap ♪ ♪ Clap up down ♪ ♪ Clap now turn it all around ♪ I'll do two lines first.

And then you can say it back.

Ready? My turn first.

♪ Here I go ♪ ♪ Clap clap tap tap tap ♪ ♪ Clap up down ♪ ♪ Here you go ♪ ♪ Clap clap ♪ ♪ Tap tap tap ♪ ♪ Clap up down ♪ Good.

♪ My turn here I go ♪ ♪ Clap now turn it all around ♪ ♪ Your turn ♪ ♪ Clap now turn it all around ♪ Good.

Let's stick it together.

Here we go.

♪ Clap clap ♪ ♪ Tap tap tap ♪ ♪ Clap up down ♪ ♪ Clap now turn it all around ♪ Brilliant! Let's do it.

Now remember, our pulse is even.

Okay, let's get to know that rhythm again.

So we've got two beats in a bar.

Just like last time.

And here is our rhythm for the top line.

See if you can work out what those notes are.

Hmm, I can see some ta's in there, I can see a ti-ti in there.

I can see some squiggle at the end.

Can you remember what it is? It is a ta, which is a ta, rest.

And in that rest, we don't play anything at all.

Here are our rhythm syllables.

Our sounds for the notes.

Let's say it first all the way through.

We say the rhythm syllables, the sounds of the nose.

Our ta's, our ti-ti's or our ta-ah-ah-ah's and so on.

Then we clap and say the notes together.

Then finally we clap only, but we say it in our heads.

Are we ready? You will recognise that just like last lesson, we are now reading not one bar rhythms, but two bar rhythms. And each of those bars has four beats in them.

Which means that actually we can get rid of those heartbeats and we can just put a number four at the start.

And that tells us that there are the same amount of beats in every single bar.

And then we'll go into section B.

What could come next? Well, we could create a whole new section with different rhythms and different sounds called section C, but why don't we repeat a section that we've already had? So we have A and then B and then why don't we go back to section A? So our structure is A, then B, then A.

Let's take a look at our rhythms. Okay.

So on the top line, we have section A.
