- Hi, my name is Mr. Palekar and welcome back to Music.
In this unit, we are exploring body percussion.
In today's lesson, we are going to be developing all of the body percussion that we have started to learn over the last few lessons.
Now, in this lesson, we are going to warm up with our game, Give Me One.
Then we're going to practise our mambo cup rhythm, which I hope you've all been practising.
And then we are going to learn the pat click clap groove, the pat click clap groove.
And then finally, it's Mr. Palekar's Musical Challenge, where we try to read some body percussion all the way through.
Now for this lesson, you will need some headphones, if you have some headphones.
If you don't have some headphones, don't worry, just make sure you are somewhere where you can focus, and you won't be disturbed.
You'll need a pencil and some paper, if you would like to make some notes.
You will need your hands, and your bodies, of course, for body percussion, and you will need yourself a plastic beaker or a cup, something that's not going to break.
Now, if you need any of those things, make sure you pause the video now, you get them, and you come back and you press play.
Give Me One, warmup.
Just like last lesson, we were practising our brilliant warmup called Give Me One.
It's a brilliant game that we're going to get started with now.
Let's just have a quick recap of what it looks like.
So when I say, "Give me one," you're going to give me one tap, followed by a, clap pat.
Pat, clap pat, ready? One, two, three, give me one.
And some of you are realising that I'm using my table again, which is absolutely fine.
If you would like to use your knees instead, that's also absolutely fine as well.
