Hygiene means keeping yourself and where you live clean and free from unhealthy germs.

A germ is a living thing that is very small. Some germs keep us healthy and other germs can cause harm and make you ill.

To prevent something is to stop it from happening.

Washing your hands with warm water and soap can help to prevent the spread of germs.

In this Healthy me unit, pupils learnt the importance of eating the right amounts of different types of food. In the Healthy eating unit, they will build on this knowledge to learn that animals, including humans, need the right types and amounts of nutrition from what they eat
