Food gives living things energy and helps them to stay healthy.

The health of a living thing is how well or ill it is. A healthy diet keeps a person or animal well.

Fat is found in foods like butter and cheese. It is not healthy to eat a lot of foods that contain fat.

Something that is unhealthy is not good for your health.

In this Healthy me unit, pupils learnt the importance of eating the right amounts of different types of food. In the Healthy eating unit, they will build on this knowledge to learn that animals, including humans, need the right types and amounts of nutrition from what they eat

In the Human body parts unit, pupils learnt to identify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body. In this Healthy me unit, pupils will build on this knowledge to describe ways in which we can look after our bodies and explain why it is important to do so.
