About us

Who we are

We’re here to support great teaching. We’re an independent public body. We work in partnership to improve pupil outcomes and close the disadvantage gap by supporting teachers to teach, and enabling pupils to access, a high-quality curriculum.

From primary through to key stage 4, across all national curriculum subjects, we provide free access to thousands of resources that help you prepare high-quality classroom teaching for all your pupils.

Created by UK curriculum and subject experts, they’re quality-assured and tested by teachers. They support planning at every level – from curriculum design to lessons. And they can also offer your pupils a high-quality learning experience away from the classroom, supporting their homework and revision.

From here

Created in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak, we brought together a group of partners committed to supporting schools’ efforts to keep children learning.

To here

As the national body supporting curriculum, we’re working with a diverse range of experts and partners to create and share fully resourced curriculum models, units and lessons for you to adapt and use with your pupils.

And beyond

Alongside developing these teaching and curriculum resources, we’re exploring how we can help teachers reduce their lesson planning workload using AI.

Independent

Oak is by teachers, for teachers. Our board is publicly appointed, and our partners selected through an open process.

Optional

Teachers know their pupils best, so we want them to continue to think deeply about curriculum and choose if and how to use us.

Adaptable

Oak’s resources and curricula will be fully adaptable because no model can suit every teacher or pupil in every context.

Free

Oak will always be free - because access to a great education shouldn’t be based on who can afford to pay.
