Common misconception
Children have to use knives to cut food.
Kitchen scissors can be used to cut a variety of foods. Scissors are generally safer to use.
Cut the peppers in half, ready for the pupils - this makes it easier for the pupils. You may wish to show pupils the stalk and seeds inside the pepper. If you have a school garden, peppers could be grown and used. Fresh chives could be grown in the classroom.
