- A person's character traits make that person who they are
- Someone's personality or character traits may be different to others'
- Certain character traits are better suited to some jobs, such as bravery for a firefighter
Keywords
Noun - a naming word of people, place or things
Adjective - describes a noun
Describe - add detail to
Character traits - the special qualities that make a character themselves
Simple sentence - a sentence about one idea that makes complete sense
Common misconception
Pupils may struggle to describe themselves.
Before describing themselves, model sentences by describing your pupils providing them with vocabulary, 'You are...'.
If pupils are confidently writing one sentence, you could encourage them to write another sentence. You may want them to compare themselves to the jobs we have looked at, such as 'I am brave like doctors.' Provide a word bank if necessary.
