Key learning points
- All of the letters start on the ascender line except for the letter S which starts just below the ascender line.
- Letters A, H, K and T all have either one or two vertical or diagonal lines going down to the baseline.
- Letters A, H, K and T all need the pencil to be lifted to form the horizontal or diagonal lines.
- You do not lift your pencil when forming the letter S.
- The letter S curls around twice.

Common misconception
Getting the correct position and angle for the diagonal lines on the letters A and K can be challenging at first.
