  2. 'Demolish' is a verb which means to destroy or eat up.
  3. 'Savour', inhale', 'guzzle' and 'gorge' are other verbs related to eating.

Common misconception

Pupils might think all 6 verbs can be used interchangeably.

Ensure pupils understand the nuances of each verb by studying the word pairs carefully. For example, 'guzzle' is the verb that is mainly associated with liquids.
