Key learning points
- Regular -er verbs have the following endings in the singular form: (je) -e, (tu) -es, (il) -e and (elle) -e.
- 'Adorer', 'aimer', 'préférer' and 'détester' are opinion verbs. They are regular -er verbs.
- Opinion verbs usually translate into the simple present tense in English.
- It is important to practise vocabulary regularly.

Common misconception
The verb 'aimer' means to like, and 'adorer' means to love.
The verb 'aimer' means in fact both to like and to love. 'Adorer' does also mean to love, but can be translated as to adore. When saying 'I love you' in French, we say 'je t'aime'.
