  1. The sound-symbol correspondence [oi] makes the sound as in 'trois'.
  2. In French, there is only one way to talk about things in the present tense: je regarde.
  3. In English, there are two ways to refer to the present: I watch and I am watching.
  4. Regular -er verbs have the following endings in the singular form: (je) -e, (tu) -es, (il) -e and (elle) -e.

Common misconception

There are two ways of referring to the present tense in French, as in English. For example: I watch and I am watching.

There is only one way to refer to the present tense in French: je regarde. This can be translated as both 'I watch', and 'I am watching'.
