Key learning points
- Je (I) and tu (you) are pronouns. They tell us who is doing the verb or who the verb is about.
- Être means 'to be, being', je suis means 'I am' and tu es means 'you are'.
- Consonants such as -s, -t, -x and -d at the end of a word are usually silent in French.
- Four important skills for learning are: écouter (listening), lire (reading), parler (speaking) and écrire (writing).
