Key learning points
- When someone or something receives the action of a verb indirectly, use 'lui' to mean 'to him/her': 'je lui parle'.
- When the indirect receiver of the action of the verb is formal 'you', use 'vous' to mean 'to you': 'elle vous parle'.
- Indirect object pronouns are also used after verbs followed by 'à', e.g., 'il lui parle, nous vous téléphonons'.
