Keywords
Region - A region is a part of a country or the world.
County - A county is an area within a country that runs services such as transport, education, policing, waste management, etc.
Map - A map is a two-dimensional representation of an area, showing geographical features and where they are in relation to each other.
Common misconception
The UK is the same as Great Britain
The UK is short for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is not in Great Britain.
You may want to start with the region with which students are most familiar and move from there. A reminder of key compass directions will also help with the name of several of the regions of England in particular.
