Number - A count or measurement that is an idea in our minds. The number is an idea, the numeral is how we write it.
Count - Count means to say the number names in order and to count a set to find out how many there are.
Find opportunities to integrate the use of numerals throughout the day eg. using numeral dice in games, on 'tidy-up labels', labelling amounts during snack time. Read books containing numerals. See EEF's Improving Mathematics in KS1 Guidance Report.
