Week - A time period of seven days.
Common misconception
It is not a misconception to say that Monday is the first day of the week. However, generally it is accepted that the first day of the week is Sunday, which is how it will be referred to in this unit.
Discuss with pupils that many people regard Monday as the first day of the week because it is the first day of the working week and that while both Sunday and Monday are acceptable, Sunday is more widely accepted.
