Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Algorithms are written so that a series of instructions can be followed
  2. In order to write a programme, the method must be understood

Keywords

  • Programmer - A (computer) programmer is a person who writes and tests computer programs.

Common misconception

Pupils may struggle with the 'and' statements in the logic part of the lesson.

For the statement to be true, the whole statement must be true. This refers to both clauses that are joined by the word 'and'. If even one of the clauses is not true, then the entire statement can be declared not true (even if one clause is true).
