I can identify and explain whether a number is or is not a multiple of a given integer.

Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. For any multiple of 10 the place value of the ones column is zero.
  2. For any multiple of 5 the place value of the ones column is zero or five.
  3. Any multiple of 10 is also a multiple of 5 and 2.

Common misconception

A number is a prime if it is not divisible by 2, 3, 5 or 10.

A factor of a number can be greater than 10.
