Key learning points
- When revisiting vocabulary it's important to revise different parts of speech: verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs.
- Verbs communicate actions or states, e.g. -ar verbs - 'sacar', -er verbs - 'recoger', -ir verbs - 'subir'.
- Adjectives give information about a noun (person, place, thing). Prenominal adjectives go before the noun; most follow.
- Adverbs describe a verb or an adjective, e.g. adverbs of frequency - 'por la tarde’ or adverbs of place - ‘lejos (de)'.
- To mean 'I' for a preterite verb, we remove the -ar and add -é, for 'you' we add -aste, and for ‘she, he, it’ we add -ó.
Keywords

Common misconception
Accents don't affect how we pronounce Spanish words.
Accents are very important and can differentiate between past and present. When we pronounce words with accents, we must remember to stress that syllable. For example, the verb 'caminó' means 'he, she, it walked' while 'camino' means 'I walk'.
