Common misconception
The stem of the 'I, you, she/he/it' form of the verb 'poder' is spelt exactly the same as the infinitive.
The infinitive is 'poder' but when we conjugate the verb, the spelling changes for the 'I, you, she/he/it' form. 'Puedo' means 'I can', 'puedes' means 'you can' and 'puede' means 'she/he/it can.'
