Key learning points
- The definite article is used with body parts rather than ‘my’ ‘yours’, ‘his’/’her’, etc.
- ‘Doler’ (to hurt, to be painful) is very commonly used with an indirect object pronoun.
- In sentences with ‘doler’, the subject is the body part(s) so you need to use the correct verb ending for -er verbs.
- In a role play, you are expected to say a few words or a short phrase in response to each prompt/bullet.
Keywords
Indirect object pronoun - replaces the person(s) or thing(s) receiving the action of the verb, when the meaning is 'to' or 'for' someone.
Common misconception
One-word answers are sufficient in the role play.
It's important to say a few words or a short phrase/sentence in response to each prompt/bullet rather than one-word answers.
