Key learning points

  1. Practising word recall often helps to secure word knowledge.
  2. The 1st person singular talks about ‘I'; to mean 'I' with an -er verb, the ending changes to -o.
  3. The 3rd person singular talks about 'she, he, it'; to form this with an -er verb, the ending changes to -e.
  4. New vocbaulary and verb structures can be practised through playing a game.

Keywords

  • -er verbs - a verb whose infinitive form ends in -er

  • 1st person singular - form of pronouns and verbs used to talk about 'I'

  • 3rd person singular - form of pronouns and verbs used to refer to 'she, he, it'

Common misconception

The endings for -er verbs change in the same way that they do for -ar verbs.

Whilst the 'I' form changes to -o for both -ar and -er verbs, for she, he, it, the ending change to -e for -er verbs.
